More from Tom and Amy Larson's Adventures on the S/V Sandpiper:

S/V Sandpiper in Moorea Being a PYC member really was a great benefit as we stopped at every town on the California coast enjoying reciprocal yacht club benefits everywhere we stopped, which meant hot showers and free/discounted slip fees. We were also able to get a slip in San Diego's Navy Submarine Warfare Training Center's sailing club/marina, enjoying a slip very near the city center when all the other marinas were turning boats away.
Sandpiper left San Diego last October 31st, 2005 as part of Latitude 38's BAHA fleet of 150 other sailboats all arriving 10 days later in Cabo San Lucas. From there Sandpiper crossed the Sea of Cortez spending 2 weeks in Mazatlan enjoying the Mexican Culture and spending many hours in the pools and hot tubs at the marina. Sandpiper continued south stopping in San Blas, Chamela, La Cruz, arriving at Paradise Village Resort in Puerto Vallarta. We spent one month enjoying all the resorts facilities and it's all included with your slip fees, 2 pools, water slides, pool bingo hot tubs and you can even charge your bar tab to your boat's slip!! This was also a time that we had visiting friends and family bring much needed boat parts to help get Sandpiper ready for her Pacific Crossing. Tom Gets a Tattoo
Amy Larson We continued south stopping in Ipala, Chamala, Tenacatita, Bari Navidad, Manzanillo, stopping in Zihuatanejo where we spent 2 weeks getting sandpiper ready to cross the Pacific. We had a great "Puddle Jump" and made it from Zihuatanejo to Hiva Oa in 28 days.
